The big bears have mostly left for dens. So are pregnant mothers-to-be. Remaining are mothers whose cubs keep them up longer than most other bears.
Raven flying
Up a tree today was Maisie, daughter of 3-year-old Mia (daughter of Maureen, granddaughter of Ursula, great granddaughter of Shadow). In good light at the time on this cloudy, rainy day; Maisie was looking intently at something on the ground, showing us her identification marks: the white tuft in her ear, a white tuft under her chin, and dull white spot on her chest in the lower right hand corner of the picture.
