On this first day of bear hunting season we’ve not yet heard a shot or found any sign of nearby baiting. Always foremost in our minds are bears like Lily (pictured showing her love for Hope back on April 24, 2010). We want to see Lily and others again, not only for science and education but because we know them and they know us and we just don’t want to lose them. Also, we know how much cubs need their mothers, and we don’t want them orphaned. And for the world, I’m hoping they can again make a difference for bears far and wide.
Thank you for all you do, Lynn Rogers, Biologist, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center
