Merry Christmas to All - UPDATE December 24, 2024

Red Squirrel

And looking around me, I don’t know if it’s correct to include wildlife in that, but I couldn’t help but think about Christmas when I saw this family of flying squirrels gather together so comfortably to share a dinner like my whole extended family did together every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

And now, as neighbors brought cookies over, I couldn't help but think of Christmas when this red squirrel seemed to be enjoying (I think) a treat I put out for him.

Then, suddenly across the lake on this Christmas Eve hoar frost is adding its white for Christmas, almost as a frame for the beaver lodge at the base of that picture.

Most of all, though, holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving make me thankful for all you do for bears and our mission. Knowing how much you’ve done over the years, I’m reminded of our joint efforts and our joint appreciation for bears—especially when I see your many ways of saying Merry Christmas and expressing your appreciation for what ties us together in what we all have tried to do for bears over the years.

So I can’t help but say once again: Thank you for all you do, and Merry Christmas
