Bucky spends time under the second floor deck, but I don’t think he lives there all the time. Today he appeared at the date mash block about 11 AM and was at it for a long time, leaving marks that look like tooth marks (picture). He disappeared under the second floor deck for a couple hours. Then he reappeared and hurried down the steps and disappeared down a knot hole in the first floor deck where the boards are 15/16ths of an inch apart (picture). I haven’t seen him since. Gray foxes raised pups under that deck last summer.
A friend sent me pictures of a remotely triggered live trap. I wonder if that would help. The healthy red squirrel picture was taken at Bucky’s feeding spot.
