Holly’s Foot Pads and Being Startled - UPDATE January 19, 2017

In the first ½ minute of this 7½-minute video, Holly is stretching and showing us the progress she has made on her foot pads. Downy woodpeckerShe is almost done with her right front and right rear foot pads, but she still has most of her toe pads to go on those feet.

At 5:08, she whirls and looks at Lucky and may have clacked her jaws nervously. Lucky responded with a couple nervous licks. Still no close interactions captured between these two. https://youtu.be/M7ySdQlJJcs

Out the window, a female downy woodpecker took her turn at the suet on this 39°F day. She posed in the best light of the day, showing her barred outer tail feathers (meaning downy) and white back of head (meaning female).

Thank you for all you do.
