June Lost Her Collar – UPDATE August 19, 2013

LilyLily  The team was galvanized into action today with the discovery that June had lost her collar.  The leather breakaway piece did what it’s supposed to do.  It broke.  Sue, Mike, and Lorie searched fruitlessly for June for hours before giving up…for today at least.

Meanwhile, the bear course group saw Lily with her ribbons ready for hunting season.  We plan to add some reflective plastic yet.

Media interviews today were about the black bear attack on the 12 year old girl in Michigan and other attacks across the nation.  Our take on it—simply coincidence.  Bears are not suddenly becoming more aggressive.  Attacks are very rare.  Not enough details were available for any of the attacks to say anything substantial about causes.

Thank you for all you do.
