Non-bear Miscellany – UPDATE October 23, 2012
Honey- Oct 25, 2011The focus today was the health inspection that included everything about this place—well, septic, windows, doors, kitchen, bedrooms, water quality, refrigerator, dishwasher, water temperature, wastebaskets, food thermometers, and more. Minnesota is very thorough. We welcomed everything. We were prepared. Thankfully, we had the former director of inspections for a wing of the huge Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis direct our preparations. She is a long-standing Lily Fan, of course. Lily Fans come through again, both in the direction and preparations. Speaking of the director, the inspector said he had never seen anyone so thorough.
A glitch: we expected construction to start today. We’ll find out tomorrow what happened. No biggie.
Another glitch: we credited Lily’s Ladies for the “Decorate the Den” fundraiser over the weekend but it was really the volunteer FUNdraising Group. Thank you to that group and all who participated. We were happy to see so much activity on the page. Creative, spontaneous, and fun like the old days. Thank you again.
Today was the last day this fall for the Bear Center to be open daily. For most of the winter, the Bear Center will be only open Fridays and Saturdays. More details on bear.org at http://www.bear.org/website/the-nabc/visit-us/location-hours-a-fees.html.
Thank you for all you do.
