Hope Education Building – UPDATE August 24, 2012

antlerWhite-tailed deer antler - Aug 20, 2012Bear work today was usurped by a sleepless night and a productive meeting regarding the Hope Education Building. The sleepless night was due to the many issues, questions, and opportunities at hand. Lots to keep the mind active! The productive meeting resulted in ground-breaking being set for 2 PM on Sunday, September 30—a little over a month away. We’re tweaking the floor plan to stay within budget. The architect will have the revision to us in a few days.

Meanwhile, we’re keeping an eye out for an opportunity to radio-collar Braveheart’s yearling daughter Oliana.

The picture last night of Faith with her two friends is delightful. We don’t know of any other bear this year that has bear 'friends' like Faith does. Is it genetic, pure chance, or her early training with playful Hope?

At the Bear Center it was a pleasure, as always, to talk to Lily Fans and once again see how aware you all are about the bears and the need for education.

Thank you for all you do.
